For the music enthusiast, membership in the Tuesday Music Club gives you a front row seat to performances by local musicians and music students from October through May. Membership also gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the Lakeland community by supporting musicians and music educators in Polk County. Opportunities exist to take leadership roles in the organization and help to shape the Club’s mission as it progresses through the 21st century.
For the educator, membership in the Tuesday Music Club offers performance opportunities for you and your students, from appearing on monthly programs to participating in the annual Sunday Musicale and assisting with the National Music Week celebration. Membership also helps in the ongoing efforts to promote music education awareness in our local schools and throughout the community.
For the performer, membership in the Tuesday Music Club provides a stage for you to present your work. The Tuesday Music Club is dedicated to the promotion of American performers and composers. Membership also gives you opportunities to apply for competitive grants and awards on the state and national levels, as well as offering performing opportunities through the National Federation of Music Clubs.
National Federation of Music Clubs, founded in 1898, is now the world’s largest philanthropic music organization supporting American music and musicians. It is one of three music organizations to be chartered by the United States Congress and the only music organization member of the United Nations. There are 6,000 NFMC-related organizations and music clubs nationally. Members are professional and amateur musicians, vocalists, composers, dancers, performing artists, arts and music educators, students generous benefactors and music lovers who are interested in creating a dynamic musical and cultural environment in their communities.
